Motor rally drivers face lifetime ban over Iganga rally accident

Rally drivers and organisers who were involved in the New Year’s Day motorsport event held in Iganga on Monday are likely to face a life ban from the sport.

This after the Federation of Uganda Motorsports Union (FMU) and the Police picked interest in the event after NTV broadcast a report where a rally car knocked down a fan during the event.

Dusman Okee the FMU president says the case has been taken over by the police, and the police will be trying to find out who authorised the event, and the safety measures in place.

Okee also says the drivers who participated in the rally will be penalised, because there is zero tolerance in Uganda motor rallying.
